Trustee's Reports

Message from the Chair of Trustees

For the year ended 31 March 2026

As Chair of the board of Trustees, I want to start by recognising our wonderful team, who have worked tirelessly and with purpose, passion and commitment to support children and families often at times of great distress and trauma.

Our direct work with victims will always be at our core and it has been really pleasing to see the work we do to support families has been further improved through the enhancement of our Ascend programme and to see that this has been adopted by several police forces with plans for further rollout during the next reporting year. Working in partnership is one of our core organisational strengths and we continue to be well regarded by partner organisations for the unique contributions we bring to the table.

We continue to have influence and impact on a national scale through the training and up-skilling of professionals working in this field as well as our continued advocacy and lobbying work to influence key decision makers to achieve better outcomes for victims and survivors. We are an organisation informed by the professional knowledge and experience of our team, through our direct work with victims, survivors and families and through our lived experience group providing insightful input and feedback that help shape our services.

Following the decision of our CEO Vicki Green to bring her retirement forward, we were delighted to appoint Lawrence Jordan as interim CEO in February 2026 to allow the board to find a permanent successor for the role whilst maintaining organisational continuity and stability. We would like to record our thanks to Vicki for her service to MCF and wish her a happy and healthy retirement. We are happy to advise that Lawrence Jordan was officially confirmed in the post of CEO from 1 May 2026 and we wish him all the best in his new role.

As ever, we are most grateful to all our funders as without their support we would not exist. We continue to ensure that all funding received is put the best possible use in sustaining and developing our products and services in furtherance of our charitable objectives.

Lastly, on behalf of the trustees I want to pay tribute to everyone working at MCF in whatever capacity. I am humbled by the passion and dedication of our team to do their very best every day and we are grateful for everyone’s contribution to making 2026 a success.

I am proud and privileged to be the Chair of Trustees for the Marie Collins Foundation and to present this 2026 report on behalf of the board.
