The Marie Collins Foundation welcomes decisive government action to target those who profit from the abuse of children. Technology-assisted child sexual abuse (TACSA) is escalating in scale and knows no borders. International collaboration is vital to dismantle offender networks, disrupt abuse, and cut off the profits that fuel children’s suffering.

We particularly welcome the government’s commitment to listen to survivors of abuse. Without hearing directly from those who have experienced harm first-hand, policy responses will be ineffective and disconnected from reality.

We would also like to see stronger collaboration with financial institutions, ensuring systems are in place to identify and flag transactions linked to child sexual abuse. Strengthening financial safeguards that prevent exploitation is critical to disrupting those who profit from the sexual exploitation of children.

We look forward to ongoing engagement with the new Home Secretary and the Home Office to prioritise child protection online, strengthen systemic change, and deliver real progress in turning the tide on TACSA.
