Impact and Innovation Funding

Why Innovation and Impact Funding Matters

and how it enables the next stage of MCF's work

Technology-Assisted Child Sexual Abuse (TACSA) is escalating at a pace current systems cannot match. Millions of children globally are harmed each year, yet many never disclose, and many others only disclose years later. In that time, they remain largely invisible to support services built around outdated, disclosure-first models.

Core funding protects our vital frontline work. Innovation & Impact Funding is what allows us to confront the next set of challenges:

  • supporting victims who have not yet disclosed,

  • restoring control and agency to those whose images and data exist in official systems, and

  • building survivor-led tools that help transform national responses to TACSA.

This fund is how we close the disclosure gap, address systemic blind spots, and create interventions that meet children in the digital spaces where harm occurs.

In short, Innovation & Impact Funding grows our reach, deepens our impact, and builds the future of TACSA recovery.

Digital Self-Help Tool for Non-Disclosing Victims

A private, trauma-informed pathway to support.

Most children harmed through TACSA never disclose, so they never reach the support they need. This project will create a survivor-designed digital tool that offers anonymous, trauma-informed help to young people who are afraid or not ready to tell anyone.

Victim and Survivor Image Rights

Victim Image and Data Rights Mechanism

Giving survivors a say in how their images are used

Survivors of image-based abuse have almost no say in how their images and data are stored, used or shared. This project will create the UK’s first survivor-led framework and mechanism for CSA imagery and data handling.

Flexible, Anonymous Lived Experience Platform

Trusted, confidential ways to shape system change

Not all victims and survivors feel ready, or safe, to be part of a group - but many still want their lived experience to drive change.

We want to build a lived experience insight and contribution platform that enables anonymous, flexible contribution, so these unheard voices are fully included in shaping service design, training, and policy reform.

Our Innovation and Impact Funding Requirement

Alongside core support, we are seeking multi-year Innovation & Impact Funding commitments from philanthropic partners. To fully resource our current Innovation & Impact portfolio, we require £250,000 per year for a minimum of three years (a total of £750,000). Multi-year investment gives us the stability to work through discovery, design, testing and implementation without interruption, so that survivor-led TACSA innovations can move from ideas to real-world impact at scale.

While this is our full funding requirement, we welcome contributions at any level and will phase or scale project delivery to match the resources available. Partners may choose to support the portfolio as a whole or direct their funding towards a specific project.

If you’d like to explore how your support could help fund this portfolio or a specific project, please get in touch with us.
